Virginia Ruth Bell, age 85, of Dixon, was born on March 13, 1937, in Pulaski County, a daughter of William Menzo and Anita Dale (Lawson) Hinson and departed this life on October 26, 2022 at The Villa At Blue Ridge, Columbia.

Virginia was united in marriage on February 2, 1957, at Dixon, to Claude Ralph Bell, and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 18, 2011; her parents, William and Dale; her daughter, Mary Rose Bell on May 31, 2002; her brother, Bill Hinson and two sisters, June Weathers and Jane Hayes.

Virginia accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at the Seaton Church. She had been a member of the Seaton Faith Fellowship Church and the First Assembly of God Church, both of Dixon before residing in Columbia. She had taught school at Wheeler and Liberty Schools and later worked for Brown Shoe Company for 32 years, retiring in March 1992. She enjoyed watching tv, sitting outside enjoying a cup of coffee, going for long rides, but most of all she adored her grandchildren.
