Virginia Mae Ray, age 90, of St. Peters, formerly of Crocker, was born on May 15, 1936, at Crocker, a daughter of James and Vada (Kelso) Tomlinson, Sr. and passed from this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Evelyns House, Creve Coeur.
Virginia was united in marriage on November 13, 1950, at Crocker to Ernest Charles Ray, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2016. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Tomlinson, Jr.
She was baptized early in the 1950's and was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Crocker. She worked along side her husband in their small engine repair shop, mowing lawns and cleaning the health department and post office. In her spare time, Virginia enjoyed reading her Bible and doing word search books, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Those left to cherish the memory of Virginia include: one brother, Glenn (Janet) Moore, her sister-in-law, Barbara Tomlinson, her Ray family; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held for Virginia from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service at 11:00 a.m. all on Monday, June 1, 2026, in the Presbyterian Church, 414 South Commercial Street, Crocker with Pastor Bill Agnew officiating.
Interment will be in the Crocker Cemetery next to her beloved husband, under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Virginia will be Randy Hagemann, Donnie Ray, Bobby Layman, Alan Marso, Roy Moore and Tony Gaia
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Crocker Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund in memory of Mrs. Virginia Mae Ray with envelopes available at the Church, the day of her service or C/O Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home P.O. Box 700. Crocker, MO 65452.
