In Loving Memory of Vivian Jewell Thompson

Vivian Jewell Thompson, age 92, of Dixon, Missouri, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday evening, February 7, 2026, at the Richland Care Center in Richland, MO. Born on August 27, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of Pete Noah and Dora Mae (Grisham) Carter.

Vivian lived a life rooted in faith, family, and quiet strength. She was baptized early in life and, at the time of her passing, was a faithful attendee of the Word of Life Fellowship Church in Dixon. Her steady devotion and kind spirit were evident in every season of her life.

On December 13, 1952, Vivian was united in marriage to the love of her life, Yarol Arthur Thompson, beginning a partnership that spanned an extraordinary 73 years. Together, they raised three sons and built a home filled with love, laughter, and enduring values.

Vivian dedicated many years of service to her community, working first at the State Bank of Dixon and later at the REA, now known as Gascosage Electric. She retired in 1991 after 20 years of faithful employment, leaving behind a legacy of reliability and hard work.

Outside of her professional life, Vivian found joy in the simple pleasures that made life rich—bowling, quilting, crafting, cooking, and traveling. She especially treasured trips to California and Hawaii, experiences that reflected her sense of adventure and appreciation for the beauty of the world.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Kenneth "Bob" Carter, Arlie Carter, Erma Hance, Norma Russell, Mildred Felkerson; and an infant sister, Dorothy Carter.

Vivian is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Yarol Thompson of Dixon; her three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Thompson of Jonesboro, Illinois; Johnny and Tammy Thompson of Poplar Bluff; and Jerry and Jill Thompson of Spring Hill, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel in Dixon, with Pastors Tim and Kathy Jennings officiating. Interment will follow in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network), honoring Vivian's compassionate heart and the causes she held dear.

Vivian Thompson will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her deep love for family, and the gentle grace with which she lived her life. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the countless lives she touched.
