William Dean Sims, of Warrenton, MO, formerly of Dixon, was born on September 13, 1942, at Dixon, a son of Melvin L. and Imogene (Slone) Sims and passed from this life on Monday, August 24, 2026 in the SSM St. Louis University Hospital. He had attained the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

Dean was united in marriage on December 24, 1960, at Dixon, to Miss Charlsie Jones and to this union, two sons were born.

Dean had been a member of the Santee Community Church near Dixon, where he was baptized early in life. Dean worked at Brown Shoe Company for many years, before moving to O’Fallon, MO to work in construction. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union, St. Louis, retiring in 1992, and then went to work for St. Charles Boat and Motor, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching old Western movies, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Taylor.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Charlsie, on July 13, 2014; his father, Melvin in 1959; his mother, Imogene in 1986; brothers, infants Charles Dwight Sims and Jerry Wayne Sims, Roger Sims, Charlie Sims, Danny Sims, Michael Sims, and Keith Sims; and one sister, Norma Jean Harrison.

Those left to mourn the passing of Dean include his children, Jerry Sims and his wife, Janet and Brad Sims all of Warrenton; four brothers, Dwight (Shirley) Sims, Larry Sims, Kenny (Debi) Sims, and Willis Sims; two sisters, Linda (Danny) Chandler and Brenda (Charlie) Bell; three grandchildren, Josh Sims, Amber Kennett and Taylor (Josh) Dalton; one great-grandchild, Waylon Dalton and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Dean from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at 12 noon all on Friday, August 28, 2026 in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, 205 West Third Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459

Interment will be in the West Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Dean are Brad Sims, Josh Dalton, Mike Jones, Mike Vaughan, Chase Jones, Greg Sims and Lance Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Sims and Doug Burnett.
