Obituary

Willis Hamilton "Bugs" Crews, of Crocker, was born on August 30, 1919, at Crocker, a son of Medford and Maude (Hamilton) Crews and departed this life at 6:35 a.m., Monday morning, February 20, 2012, in the Life Care Center of Waynesville. Mr. Crews had attained the age of 92 years, 6 months and 18 days.

Mr. Crews was united in marriage on February 26, 1941, at Lebanon to Mildred Leona Cusick and to this union, eight children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 26, 2011; one son, Ronald Dean Crews on May 11, 2005; an infant daughter, Brenda Rose Crews; his parents; one brother, Willard Crews and two sisters, Wilma Kemp and Mildred Louise Crews.

Mr. Crews had attended Hilltop Christian Union Church and Sweet Home Christian Church, both in Crocker. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and later worked for the Missouri State Highway Department. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed working with horses.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Crews include: five sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry and Nan Crews, Willard; Danny and Linda Crews, Stanton; Gary Crews and companion, Diane, Savannah, Georgia; Roger Crews and Darrell Crews and companion, Sheryl, all of Crocker; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Hank Grosenbacher, Edgar Springs; two brothers, Don Crews, Hancock and Gene Crews, Beulah; ten grandchildren, Kevin, Randy, Michael, Darrell, Melissa, Tonya, Amy, Dustin, Joni and Matthew; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Crews at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Jimmy Moore officiating. Two favorite vocal selections of "Amazing Grace" and "Daddy's Hands" were played for the service.

Interment with full military honors was in the Antioch Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Crews Randy Crews, Matthew Rowden, Ivan Crews, Terry Roam, Butch Gray and Larry Childers.
