S. Yvonne Miller, age 93, formerly of Jefferson City, MO, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Abrazo Hospital Scottdale, AZ.
She was born on August 29, 1931, in Hancock, MO, the daughter of James Clint and Opal Alice (Davis) Bays. She was united in marriage on February 12, 1949, in Miami, OK to James Russell Miller who preceded her in death on March 28, 1998.
She retired after thirty years from the Missouri General Assembly having worked in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Mrs. Miller is survived by three daughters, Sherry Lynn Anderson, Holts Summit, MO; Debra Elaine White and Cynthia Romayn Greenberg (Mark) both of Scottsdale, AZ; three grandchildren, Sarah Beth Jones (Michael), St. Thomas, MO; Martin Alan Greenberg and Scott Miller Greenberg (Amber), Scottsdale, AZ; four great-grandchildren, Lilith Eryn Jones, Lennon Cora Greenberg, Tate Mark Greenberg, and Quinn Miller Greenberg; several nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents, Clint and Opal Bays; her in- laws, Enoch and Cora Miller; her sister, Barbara Jane Warman (Wilbur); four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Lorayn Goodson (Jim), Orba Smith (Oliver), Romayn Gault (Dave), and A.T. (Jiggs) Miller (Dorothy); and nephews, Gregory P. Warman, James Lewis "Jimmy" Warman, Mike Smith, and John Goodson.
A private graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Dixon Cemetery with Pastor Chris Slocum officiating. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Jones, Martin Alan Greenberg, Scott Miller Greenberg, Lilith Eryn Jones, Lennon Cora Greenberg, Tate Mark Greenberg, and Quinn Miller Greenberg.
The family request in lieu of flowers to please make donations in memory of Yvonne's life to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri, Columbia, MO or to the Friends of Jefferson City Animal Shelter, Jefferson City, MO in memory of her many poodles, with envelopes available at the cemetery on the day of her service or in care of Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
